classic serial wavefolder topology, with additional gain between each stage. the added gain multiplies the number of folds from the previous stage; the total number of folds for each stage is then (3^n)-1, or 2, 8, and 26 folds for each stage, respectively.

additionally, this topology creates formant like behaviors at the 3rd stage output. as each stage has gain added, the slope of the resulting wave will not only fold over, but increase in degree as the input voltage approaches 0. formant-like tones come out as a result, though these will always be harmonically locked to the input frequency. in practice, for example, it can make a sawtooth wave sound a lot like a car engine.

this module was designed for applying nonlinear control to cv inputs, as well as an extreme distortion unit. the folding behavior creates differently spaced deadzones in the voltage transfer function, resulting in a gated-fuzz at some settings, and high-gain distortion at others.
